Getting "stopped-ma" error on Delta Import of FIM Management Agent.

Hi,

   In our environment, we have scheduled the run profiles(using Powershell script) to execute Import/Export profiles for every half an hour.It is working fine. But, every day in the morning, the Delta Import is failing which inturn does not sync the new/old users with AD. So, for this i am manually doing Delta Import on FIM MA using FIM Sync Service console. It is giving "stopped-ma" error on "Delta Import". After i do a full Import every thing is working fine. Even scheduled Run Profiles are also working fine.

This is happening daily. Every day morning, the scheduled run profiles are not working due to falied Delta Import. Once i manually do Full Import, then every thing is working fine. But this solution can't be an appropriate solution in Production environment.

Could you please provide an appropriate solution for this issue.

What is our current FIM Version?

Do you have somethons else in the event viewer?

Hi Prasanthi,

When did you FIM MA Schema is updated?. After last Schema update did you execute FIM MA Full Sync.

Try  Schema update in FIMMA and run Full import/Full sync. Then check.

Also Check your event viewer and share the error message.

Sorry for delay in giving reply......

We are using FIM 2010R2 and current version is "4.1.3419.0"..

In the Event Viewer, i have noticed the following errors,

1. The Management Agen <FIM> failed on run profile "Delta Import" because the management agent encountered errors.

2. The management agent controller encountered an unexpected error.

       "ERR_MMS(1396):d:\bt\800\private\source\miis\shared\utils\libutils.cpp(9852): Unspecified ma error reported 0x80230808 Forefront Identity Manager 4.1.3419.0 "

We have not refreshed the schema for many days(for the last 1 month)..

Still we are facing the same error while doing Delta Import "Stopped-MA". Once I do a Full Import, then it is working fine...

I didn't understand where the problem is...

Could please let me know the solution...

Hi Prasanthi,

Please check the latest patches installed. Sometimes it happens due to .Net patches installation failure too. You can check the .Net service is stopped or not. Troubleshooting steps can be:

  • Check the patches followed by .Net services
  • Once the services are running, do the FIMMA schema update
  • Run FIMMA Full Import followed by Full Sync/Delta whichever you can afford but if there is a change in schema then full synch is my suggestion.
  • FIMMA Export
  • FIMMA Delta Import - Check probably it will work
